Some of the early symptoms of asthma show up with persistent cough combined with wheezing and difficulty in breathing. However these symptoms do not necessarily indicate Asthma. The medical practitioner has got to run a few tests to confirm the disease.
Asthma is a condition that can affect anyone at any age. Though there are some trigger factors that can kick start the disease, it is not very clear as to the exact cause of the condition. In recent years, a lot of research and development in this field has helped in building effective treatment protocol to manage the disease. Asthma can only be managed and not cured. Therefore for the patient as well as for the patient’s family, it is important to know more about management of Asthma.
Medical practitioner is your best partner in helping you manage this health condition. The treatment protocol works towards preventing chronic symptoms and aggravation of inflammation as well as of maintaining normal pulmonary functions and normal health of the patient. In case of severe and chronic asthmatic attacks, the patient’s physical health takes a toll and restricts him from leading a physically active life.
One of the effective drugs that the medical practitioners use to control the long term symptoms of asthma is Advair Diskus which contains corticosteroid medicine along with LBA salmeterol aimed at reducing the inflammation in the lungs and thereby controlling the disease. Though Advair Diskus is highly effective and provides relief within 30 minutes from the time of consumption by relaxing the muscles around the air passage ways, it is to be noted that patients who have heart problems, hypertension as well as other medical conditions like diabetes and thyroid abnormalities should not be administered Advair Diskus. Infants below 4 years of age are not to be administered Advair Diskus.
COPD is another health condition referring to chronic lung disease including chronic bronchitis, emphysema or both. Advair Diskus is used in treatment of COPD cases too as it helps manage the severity of the condition and reduces the re-occurrence of asthmatic conditions.
The drugs that are used to control and manage Asthma have to be used strictly under medical prescription.
